Billing Weight: Origin vs Delivered

I posted this question to a hopper bottom site on Facebook and got mixed responses. So I figured I would ask here to get more clarity. Do you bill the customer on pickup weight or delivery weight? Obviously grain off the farm or fields will only have a delivery weight. I mostly haul feed commodities so I bill on Origin/pickup weight. The reason I ask is because I hauled a load recently and billed the customer the pickup weight. The customer refused to pay origin weight and paid me delivered weight. The difference was only 100 pounds so it's not a huge deal either way. But what is wrong and what is right here? Is there an industry standard? Most carrier packets we read say the brokers pay pickup weight for commodities. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks
