BRINGING INTEGRITY BACK TO DISPATCHING/LOAD SERVICES
My husband has been a truck driver for 10+ years and after learning the ropes from him I decided to try the brokerage business. I teamed up with a gentleman to operate a small brokerage, however after 6 months of seeing how drivers were being taken advantage of and the fact that I was bringing in 99.9% percent of the shipper accounts and getting cut out of the profit margin by my “partner” I decided to branch off on my own as Dispatcher/Truck Agent. I have been extremely blessed in securing direct shipper accounts. I have not been so fortunate in locating Owner/Operators and/or small fleet owners. My specialty is produce, food commodities, and landscaping so I primarily work with flatbeds, dry vans and reefers. I also have several bulk food grade tankers that I am working to fill. I realize that brokers get a bad rap and rightfully so in many cases. I am not a broker but a truck agent. To alleviate what I call the “broker effect” stigma, I show all of my truck clients my original lane quotes and load sheets to show what each load realistically pays and ask for 10% for load planning/dispatch and an optional 2% for billing if needed. So if the load pays the truck $2,000, then the driver will get paid $2000 and then they pay for my services, instead of “brokering the load” and taking 30% off top then paying the remainder to the truck. It’s all about respect and integrity. I'd love your [email protected]
