Brokers and Grain buyers

This is one of the strangest market i have ever seen for hauling product. you call them are they call you doesnt matter. They set the haul price. they never ask you how much you would haul per mile . per bushel, per hundred weight or per day. they set the rate by the excuse of what the commodity is selling for. they dont consider your deadhead miles or your wait time. they dont consider your load time or your unloading time. If the load doesnt load that day but the next their is no detention pay. Its very funny to me that the excuses for the price is because of the market low or farmer planted in the high part of season. when a trucking company calls or is called that company should be able to set the rate of the haul. NOT THE BROKER OR GRAIN BUYER . The independents need to quit letting them set the rate. Also they base every load on 1000 bushels or to say OVERLOAD so it looks like the truck is making good money for the run. The Trucking company gets the fine, the driver takes the risk. And when a wreck happens with this overload the insurance , Dot , go after the company for everything they can get! WAKE UP you think your Big truck driver overloading and letting them set rates. Your just another puppet they used . This 2015 you can not afford to be illeagal for .25 cents bushel. The trucking rates are not set buy what thy bought for or haow much the market is at the time. Their appples should not regulate or peaches. We should not have to OVERLOAD to make the load pay enough money for their mistake.
