Then spun a camshaft bearing on the new block after 110k.\n We have Detroits as well nothing great there but they will work with us and give us some breaks. My dispatcher has an 07 Volvo with a volvo engine 4 cams and misc in 300k, you better not bring up Volvo in the morning or it is a real long day. My mechanic got me switched to Cummins and his brother works in a Cummins shop and he even says no more CUMMINS PERIOD!!!!! All of our EGR trucks eat numerous coolers, air to airs, turbo's and EGR valves. If we do factory new I will wait 2 more years @ least and see if they get the bugs out of them or maybe they will go a different direction by then. My preference @ these rates is do nothing and wear out what I have. If I could find any low mile non egr trucks I would buy them. My preference has always been to buy low mile trucks used. We had a new Kenworth in our shop for a month with the owner driving it pulling a reefer and was told an ISX would make 7 he barely made 6 taking his sweet time making the best of it. I do have a friend a feed company that bought 3 new Pete's with paccar engines I think he get's them in april,remind me to ask him in may how they are doing. The buyers are taking them home and rebuilding the engines they already have and putting them in the new trucks. There is a fleet with some paccar engines and are having issues with service and parts and the trucks are going thru twice as much def fluid as what was projected.
