Mc Donalds and worked 2 shifts that I would make more with the same ammount of hours put in...Plus go home every night..Figure it out...Lets put your true hours at 80 hours...for a week...not the reported on your log book...And you gross1,200 for the week....40 hours of straight time and 40 hours of overtime...They really do pay that..theres laws about this...but not for truckers...so 1 1/2 broke down is 60 hrs of straight time plus the 40 hours to begin withthat is 100 hours of straight timefor a week...1,200 divided by100 is12 bucks an hour...Now lets look at a person who makes 900 a week...thats a ripping 9 bucks an hour...There are Mc Donald that pay 9 bucks an hour..just to keep their employees...The numbers are here...but it should be 20 bucks or better an hour...for all of the time that you are on the road,away from home, and eating the crap that they call food at the truck stops, and the responsibility that you have driving 80,000 lbs of equipment for 9 or 12 bucks an hour...also remember where the minimum wage is...not to far from 9bucks..Minimum wage is for minimum people unless they also get tips..which raises the wage...So lets go further...20 bucks an hour times 100 is 2000 a week....UPS and Roadway pays more than that per hour and of course don't go with the 80 hours per week...But the drivers don't have to beat their heads against the wall to make ends meet...As for the forgieneers...If they could make it in their country..they would still be there...You pay for what you get...Just like the Russians and Poles out of the Chicago area...looping the west coast in a week..loading and unloading included..They have to go so fast that when they pass you..they will suck the paint right off your truck..These are forgeineers driving...and most that hires them are sweat shop mentality...And these are the major rate cutters...Maybe we could drop a dime on them and put them under...You can use CSA against you or for you...", "contentHtml":
