If you took the time to read the article, they are talking about giving wage increases up to $15.00 per hour, which is going to occur here in Kansas City as well. If the price of a burger, fries and a drink was $10 before then it would now be $10.45 - $10.60 (4.5% - 6% increase along with the wage increase). Working at Chipolte or McDonald's is starting to look better all the time.
Think about it $15 per hr for 35 hrs per week, $525.00 per week, $27,300 per year for making burgers, fries, shakes, or burritos. Of course we all know it takes more skill to make those things vs. driving our trucks. Guess that is going to blow away the Mega-Carriers thinking they were going to get 18 yr olds into trucking. Who in their right mind would want to drive a truck for around the same money as working at McDonald's?
