COST OF BUSINESS

We're doing some serious number-crunching this year given the rising price of fuel and all the new legislation coming at us. Comparing costs to five years ago, we have seen nearly a 35% increase in costs. Is anyone else seeing a huge cost increase? Obviously, fuel is a major contributor. And we have substantial increases in drivers wages, bonuses, benefits (don't even get me started on the cost of healthcare.) We try to provide an attractive benefit program (health, dental, vision, life, disability) for drivers. We're also seeing a lot more in cost of maintenance and repairs, and general costs. Just wanted to see if that's the norm with other similar companies. What cost-cutting methods are you using to help reduce business costs? Vehicle maintenance and wage reductions are not an option.
