Before one packs their bags and leaves, you might want to try to find a place to live. Motor homes were renting for over 3,000 a month, new laws prohibit farmers from renting out that space on their property. I knew guys that had to live in Montana.Mc Donald's was paying over 15 an hour . so whats that big mac goingto cast you.And be aware that if you get a flat tire, expect not to see it for about a week, or don't expect to get that truck into the mechanic for even longer. Many a company has hit North Dakota having dollar signs in their eyes, only to find mud. Yes in the beginning , the few that ventured there made very good money.. Now everybody and their brother is there trying to compete against each other.. A good friend of mine worked for a road building company.. He got out while the checks were still good. Now they are long gone, with their tails between their legs, after following that big money dream in North Dakota. This is just like every boom that has ever happened. The first get the big money or the best claims.. And the stragglers go broke. You may get some work, until somebody comes in and cuts your rates... Then it's bye bye for you. If you deside to go to North Dakota, you will notice a steady stream of people, equipment and trucks going to North Dakota, and a steady stream leaving. One should think why they are leaving if things are going so well? Just something to think about. I do hope this is different, I really do.. But I wouldn't hold my breath or to long on it.

TO CLARIFY SOME OF THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS...

WE ARE A 3RD PARTY. IF YOU BELIEVE THERE IS NOT A NEED FOR 3RD PARTIES IN THIS INDUSTRY...I WOULD INVITE YOU TO BE RECONSIDER OR BE LEFT BEHIND. WE PAY ALL OF OUR CARRIERS FAIRLY AND WEEKLY. I INVITE YOU RESEARCH MY MC #196502 BEFORE YOU CAST JUDGEMENT. WE DID NOT BID THIS BUSINESS WITHOUT EQUIPMENT. WE WERE "AWARDED" THIS CONTRACT WITHOUT EQUIPMENT BECAUSE MY CUSTOMER BELIEVES IN OUR PROVEN PERFORMANCE AND OUR ABILITY TO DELIVER.

I AM NOT PUBLICIZING A RATE BECAUSE IT IS NEGOTIABLE. SOMEONE THAT IS GOING TO MOBILIZE A FLEET OF 50 FROM 1000 MILES AWAY WILL DEMAND MORE THAN AN OWNER OPERATOR AND HIS BROTHER THAT LIVE IN ND AND ARE GOING TO RUN 1 TRUCK. HOPE THAT MAKES SENSE.

I AM CERTAINLY NOT BEGGING FOR TRUCKS, JUST OFFERING LONG TERM WORK WITH A SOLID BUSINESS PARTNER.

WITH THAT SAID....OF THE 300 TOTAL SPOTS I HAD LAST WEEK...I AM DOWN TO 140 AVAILABLE.

CONTACT ME AT 913-890-6515 IF YOU HAVE INTEREST

It's funny how for over 50 years of trucking in the United States we never needed 3rd party, aka brokers, or what ever fancy name can be thought up . And this is the knee slapper here.. WE ALL MADE MONEY. If I was a truck company with TRUCKS, I would call my competitors to see if they had a truck in the area and if they wanted to haul my load. Or if I went to an area, I would call another trucking company with trucks to see if they needed any loads covered. And for some reason we NEVER HAD BROKERS. Now somebody with a slick tongue goes in to shippers and talks the shipper into taking care of their freight movement... FOR A SLIGHT FEE. Then anything from greed to going broke and trying to stay in business took over. and then these people go and under cut each other to get the customer.. But I'll make it up in volume.. Cutting the rate, like slice and dice. Then there comes the trucker with that truck that has doubled in price in less than 20 yearsm, trying to haul that brokered load for 1980 rates. Ever see fuel surcharge? Or lay over pay? Or get any demurage after so many hours it takes to load or unload? The freight rate used to be 25% for fuel.. Not 50%, 25% for the truck, 25% to the driver, and 25% to the company. So the rates need to be at least 3.20 a mile.. So as the broker that we didnt need in the past, takes their cut, and the trucker goes broke hauling your load. Now before you get to cocky there .. Where is a broker if there are NO TRUCKS? Because YOU sure can't haul it.

I get it Jeff. you dont need a 3rd party. Well I NEED quality drivers! Always have a always will. Never said I didnt. You will never know the respect I have for truck drivers. That's why I always pay them fairly and never talk down to them. My grand dad drove for 50+ years and i was in the cab with him for many of those miles. I know the type of brokers you are talking about....but I am not one of them. I'm just trying to make a living for my family, just like everyone else. Do unto others as you would have done to you. I'd kindly ask you to find another conversation to spew your negativity...cuz you're barkin up the wrong tree

So if your as honest as you say...post the rates. Everybody that works together should get the same rate. Truck drivers all talk and will find any difference in the negotiated rate that you want. Then you will lose those as they believe you don't care about them, as you say that you do. Vacumm water trucks should get at least 120 hr to the truck. Side dumps should get at least 95 hr. this isn't Kansas any more TOTO. This is where there is very little available housing, expensive food, and if you break down.. You either fix it or you might be shut down for many days before a mechanic can look at it. I google housing in ND just to give you an example. RV space 850. Williston 4 bedroom. 3950.... 800 sqft. Apt 1700.. Google cost comparison between cities. I could only get Minot ND. Over Reno, Nv 50,000 in reno, you need 55,000 in Minot to live the same.. And that's about 100 miles to the oil fields. So post the rates so people can see if they can make any money in North Dakota.

You want to yell at me Nate? On a load board? Your rates are all different is that what you yelled? Man I sure would like to work for you. I've hauled into ND since the 70's on the Balken yes they were poking holes back then. Hopefully your honest, but your manners suck and I'm pretty sure your rates do to.

HA HA! I didnt yell at anyone. i was just too lazy to go back a retype it after I realized my caps lock was on. I feel really sorry for some of your guys. Always assuming the worst and trying to rip me apart and question my integrity without knowing anything at all about me or my company. Those that assume and expect the worst, usually find it. Luckily after all these years, I have thick skin to folks like you.

to the rest of you that have chimed in with positive/business related comments, thank you. I am still looking for about 90 trucks. 50 Dumps and 40 Water

Let me know if you're interested

Sounds like you have never been to North Dakota, except on the phone. Many of my friends have.. And you say that we are trying to rip you apart? Who said anything to do that. Everybody else here is telling others what to expect if they go to North Dakota. Ask anybody that has hauled frac sand any place.. Texas Louisiana , Colorado, Wyoming , North Dakota.. Ask them why they aren't doing it any more, or rig movers, or crude oil haulers or vacumm trucks... They were getting good money.. Now go to truck paper and see allof the used 1050 cuft pneumatics are for sale. A year ago that section had like 2 trailers.. both over 30 years old. now its pages.. You want to paint a warm fuzzy feel good picture.. You don't have 100,000 or 200000 on the line. We do. I truly hope the best for any driver, or truck owner . I truly hope that they can make their fortune.. But it's funny how cheap companies like Schneider is there, or brokers. Just like the pipe rate from Utah going to North Dakota has dropped from. About 5000 to 3500. But,but it's only x amount of miles..ok and just how far do you have to go to even get a load.. Let alone one that will make a little money. Maybe Casper you can haul drilling mud.. And if your cards are like a royal flush you might get a load out of North Dakota. But some just don't care.. As they don't have trucks to pay for. You might try the container haulers out of California.. They might be interested in your job, until winter sets in.

Well there ya go.. Somebody else trying to tell everybody what they need to work in North Dakota. 125 an hour? Ever think there is a reason for that price? It's not that people want to pay it.. They know that you need premium pay .. And how much of that 125 an hour goes to repairs and maintenance ? Alot of it does.
