Depends on what your hauling. The 66in sides are good for mulch & cottonseed But just extra weight hauling sand & stone etc. Make sure to get a coal shute , 3 way gate, gate locks , waterproof rolltarp. Lift axle if your running the northeast.

Thats a good size to start with as long as its alluminum. I prefer frameless and as far as tarps go it depends in what your hauling. I run vinyl rolls on some and cramaro's on others. Lift axles are nice but keep in mind they are just added weight in most cases. If you run 3 then your only getting 85000 gross, really not worth the 7000 lbs it costs you. If you get a tandem with a lift you are constantly batteling air pressure issues when crossing the scales. I like fixed tandems positioned all the way to the rear.

Why did you say a lift axle if running northeast? This trailer does have a front axle lift.

Could be because of toll roads? If your going to have a lot of empty miles a lift axle will pay for its self many times over.

Yes tolls. By lifting one axle you can save up to 50% on some tolls.
I run NYC twice a week that over $400 in tolls |

To correct my earlier post I was referring to combination axle weights. If you a running a standard tandem exle in michigan you are getting 17,000 per axle thus putting your gross at 80,000. As soon as you add a third "lift" axle you fall into multi-axle weight combination laws allowing you only 13,000 per axle. At that rate you are only gaining 5000 lbs additional in you gross allowing you to be 85,000 lbs. Considering a lift axle weighs between 1-2000 lbs for such a small gain in gross, you are essentially loosing tonnage by adding an axle. Unless you are permitted you are running 80,000 state to state so to add a lift axle would just cost you weight. My figures may indeed be off but figuratively tri-axle combinations are generally a loss

Not saying to add a 3rd axle. Get your front trailer axle as a lift axle.
Adding a 3rd axle would not help with tolls it would add to your tolls. Getting a spread axle would allow you to haul 40, 000 on the trailer axles Making it eaiser to get your axle weights right. |

I run a Mac frameless smooth side 39x96x52 with closed tandem front lift axle super singles works out real good for everything i haul including mulch which pays by the load the taller the sides the more wind drag u will have even worse with a flat top truck buy a trailer that will work for the loads u r gonna haul
