I would be cautious. Mill scale is like heavy black flour or very fine sand. It is the scale that is washed of the steel while it is being rolled while red hot. It is usually damp, and when I have hauled it in my dump it usually won't slide until the very top. Never again. That's stuff gets into everything and on everything. Just walking outside to open the doors it gets all over your shoes and pants. Go to pull up your socks or tie your shoes and your hands are black. It tracks into everything you touch.
