We are all \"middle-men/women\" when it gets right down to it. \n \n I would not like anyone to believe I do not believe there are GREAT carriers out there. In fact, I believe this is the very reason this industry IS taken advantage of by the country as a whole. Many of the people I have met in this industry are just simply trying to make a living by doing a good job. \n \n The drivers for the carriers are something special too (for the most part). I have been a driver. Unfortunately, the person behind the wheel does not get enough credit either. This person is called upon to be superman/superwomen with remarkable abilities. Many want this person to be a lawyer when confronted by DOT, as well as all other law enforcement of all other types. When one look at the vehicle plates shows the driver(s) are most likely not going to be able to do a damn thing about wrongdoing. After getting through the gauntlet of government, mechanical failure, bad food, bad weather and accidents. Where often the driver is first to give first aid/call for help and is often the one who has an idea what to do. (The drivers reward? Most likely to hear \"let me see your logbook\".) Then there is the PR work loading/unloading where he is the true representatives of us all. I have often said with drivers. It seems like they are either great or a pain in the ***.
