5 months ago I lease purchased a 2011 Mac end dump39'x96"x60". Im thinking it was the biggest mistake I have ever made.It doesnt have a barn door, the bows are not removable and it weighs 11000 lbs. I can never get over 23.5 ton. I am considering getting rid of the end dump and getting a hopper bottom but need input on what I would need to get. I have got to do something Im going broke here. Your input and advice would be greatly apperciated.

its a lease trailer right? could just turn it back end. Ok, on hopper lightest is going to be a cornhusker. A tempte or wilson are heavyer but standup to the work better.Whatever u get be sure to get 1 with 8 alum rims .steel rims r around 52 lbs each,26 to 28 lbs on alum rims. Same on tractor ,10 alum rims ,8 alum rims trl saves around 260 to 290 lbs. Which is 35 to 42 gals of fuel at 7.2 lbs per gal. Also have theWet Kit PTO system taken off truck completely. DO NOT haul around anything unnessary on truck.

The last thing I want to do is tell you to spend more money. Is there any way to retrofit the back gate with a barn door? You might talk to Mac about that.. Just another thought.. Aren't they looking for any kind of end dump up in the hurricane effected areas? It's so easy for others to tell you what to do , but sometimes something simple just blows over ones head, that somebody else has seen. Best of luck .. Just a couple of thoughts.
