They seem to think that product grows everywhere and goes everywhere. They think it is like freighthauling, even with our dry vans we have to charge more for areas that don't produce widgets. I think they believe that we truckers are out here sight seeing and they think they are doing us a favor by helping us move at least one way. We went round and round about this until I did the numbers for him and showed him he only made $16 more hauling the $650.00 load, but I would make $40 more. If I would rather see him not tear up his equipment by hauling air for half the trip, then why was he having such a problem doing so. Besides the load going in paid him enough to not even worry about the bounce at all. I was so frustrated that I told him that beings he knew more than me that when he gets back into town, we will redo his contract to self-dispatch and he can pay me for the load boards as well. The driver got pissed the shipper got pissed and before it was over I was pissed.\n \n My theory is that just because my truck is there doesn't mean the shipper is eligible for a freebie.\n \n My lowest earning driver made $55k last year working on percentage so I don't want my driver or the shipper telling me ho to operate.\n \n I want to brag on you a little bit.
