USING PROPANE INJECTIONS TO INCREASE FUEL MILEAGE TO 10 PLUS MILES PER GALLON
More and more fleets are starting to use propane injections to increase fuel mileage. A carrier I spoke a while back said they can get over 10 miles per gallon using propane injections with a full payload. He simply would replace his propane tanks at fuel stations or the closest Home Depot or Lowes while on the road.
Fuel has been increasing the past 6 months and many experts are forecasting over $4 fuel. This is ultimately the largest cost to the carrier which could soon be up to $.80/mile. Do any of you all know of others doing this in the industry? Why wouldn't more owner operators think about doing this to be more efficient and reduce fuel costs?
