WINDOW VISORS AND OVER AXLE OVER GROSS IN TX
Hello everybody, just wanted to get some input on the actual regulations of windshield visors, the DOT officer measured mine with a pen and said "oh man
thats pretty close oh yeah". First off is the the proper procedure to measure that sort of problem with a pen i figured the most accuarate measuring tool would have been a measuring tape, but then again im not the officer. I did not get fined but got a warning. Next problem that came across was my over axle over gross permit, i only haul exempt comodities such as hay, cattle and grain. So the officer tells me that the permit i have is not for hauling grain from elevator to elavator, but yet field to elevator, and if you look at the appliction on the txdot.gov page it specifically says

NOTE: If the vehicle will be moving both Agricultural and Non-agricultural products, a Non-agricultural permit is required.
So i then chose the agricultural permit because of the fact that i dont haul non agricultural products, just a heads up to all you out there.
