BEATEN DOWN..
My wife and I on November 1 of last year (2012) invested over 45000.00 in cash and in a loan from GE Capital for 42000.00 set up our small company, hired TSCI to file for our authority and became J Bar S Trucking LLC of Edwardsville, Kansas. Over the next three months we hauled for numerous brokers and were starting to see that this was going to be a good business to be in. Then we were hit with maintanence issues with our truck and trailer. Then the brokers stopped paying but the bills continued. We worked hard and could not get over the hump of spending out our operating capital. TSCI promised to help with setting up our files..they did nothing, they promised to walk us through a mock inspection..they would not return our calls. Brokers promised to pay and nothing came in the mail. Finally yesterday was final blow to us, our insurance payment came due and we did not have the money to pay the bill and I refuse to drive our truck one foot without the benefit of coverage. We have paid cash the entire way and now have no more to give. We have been lied to by TSCI, ADM and several others who promised to pay or to help when they were paid for services not received. We have done what we were asked to do and gladly did our job and the only one I have to blame is me. Take this as a warning to those who are thinking about starting up in this business. Don't trust brokers, don't use TSCI in Topeka to setup your authority and be careful what equipment you buy.
