I think the eld mandate is what got trump elected. There are 3.5 million comercial drivers registered in the USA, and I am pretty sure they are pissed off about the ELD mandate and speed limiter proposal. Truckers understand the problem of over regulation better than anyone, so TRUMP is their guy. Every truck stop you walk into has fox news tuned in on the TV SET, that should tell us something about how politically active this group of voters are. I bet all those over educated college idiot's that work for those polling companies completely missed that fact. And they claim to be experts? Where is their credibility after this election?

ATA gave to Trump. Don't believe ELD mandate will be stopped.

Hopefully Trump will rein in a lot of useless government regulations. If they get government out of the way. We the American workers will make America great again.

CCJ had an email today with an article that said they don't see ELDs or other Trucking regs being overturned since they had a congressional mandate and the make up of congress hasn't changed much plus congressional mandates aren't normally overturned. They did believe he might overturn or delay emission regs since they were mandated by an agency and not congress.

ATA gave to all parties, as most lobbyists do. They never know the outcome of a election ahead of time,so to be safe they give to both parties, usually giving more money to the candidate most likely to win, witch would have Hillary Clinton according to the polls. There's really nothing new going on there. That said what wins a election, votes or money? The 3.5 million vote's from truck drivers was far more usefull to trump, than the chump change given to him by the ATA. The little bit of money the ATA gave him couldn't do much more than buy a few seconds of air time on a tv commercial. Being that all the pollsters were way off, you can bet that the democrats are really going over every inch of Data right now, looking to see where they goofed up. IT won't be long before they realize that truckers are a valuable voting block, that they missed. The race is on right now by both parties to gain support where ever they can, and lock it down before the next election cycle. The first party to repeal the ELD mandate and speed limiter proposall will win the loyallty of this group of voters for decades to come. Given all the protest's and unbridled raw RAGE from the democrat's right now, I bet they would really love to have the support of 3.5 million commercial drivers in the next election, so if TRUMP doesn't want us, they will.

With the big boys like Swift and Werner, being in cahoots with the ATA and all of them together pushing for more regs I don't see any relief cong from anywhere.

Trump camainged on doing away with regulations, so by saying that he will not honor his promise, you are calling him a liar. I am not prepared to throw the man under the bus until he has proven worthy of it. The fastest way to loose a war is by convincing yourself that you have lost before you even try.

I'm not throwing him under the bus Dave I'm just taking a SWAG at the regulation outcome going by my experience. I'm all for Mr Trump but I'll not build my hopes up until I see him make a move in our direction.

We are one of the most regulated, taxed, and misrepresented industries in the world and I don't see any relief coming anytime soon.
