I don't move the truck for less than $500 and thats 0-50miles that load will sit there until someone is looking to go specifically that destination in Wisconsin. Also are you requiring tarping? if so tack on another $200 this time of the year. who wants to stand out in the snow and cold dragging heavy tarps? They hired me to find trucks for various loads. We also have taken on a warehouse of our own and store materials for other customers. I have some great trucks that know taking a 20 mile load (local to them) at $250, I will also give them the longer hauls to get their trucks back home for a decent rate. They don't kill me on my short stuff or light loads and I don't take advantage of them. It is a give and take. I know not everyone in the business has my mind set. But I am old school and believe you get what you give. I would not ask something of anyone that I would not do myself. Just yesterday, spent over 2 hours assisting in unloading a truck after hours so he could make his next appointment. Many have lost the old ways of helping each other when possible.
