What the most used fuel card companies in the trucking industry?

We use EFS, and have a Conoco for a backup. Some smaller towns dont take the EFS or like cards, so the Conoco comes in handy. Conoco works like a credit card, where as EFS charges a .75 cent fee for each use, but also alllows a cash advance once a day.

Multi Service Fuel Card has specialized in working with smaller fleets since 1978. Its important to have a fuel card to manage fuel expenses, but it is even more important to work with a fuel card company that understands your business. Adequate credit lines, cost savings programs, card controls, and live 24 / 7 customer service are just some of the things Multi Service strives to provide to customers. Fleets utilizing the Multi Service rebate program obtain card acceptance at 4,000 truck stops across the United States and Canada, but can also earn fuel rebates on every gallon of fuel purchased at qualified locations.

Our company wrote a paper on evaluating fuel cards. You can request a free copy of the paper from the below link:

I know I represent them, but I can honestly say that our company is hard to beat when compared with other fuel card providers. We guarentee cash price, offer weekly or monthly billing terms, no contracts, and have 3 additional discounts to offer our customers. You can use it at all of the Pilots, Petros, Flying Js, Love's, Pacific Prides and a total of 50,000 plus stations nation wide. Any company pumping around 5,000 gallons would qualify for some HUGE discounts. In the past month, I've seen a 25 cent off per gallon discount at Love's, a 32 cent off per gallon at a Quick Fuel, and even a 45 cent per gallon discount at a Sheetz. Contact me if you want some more information and I will see if we could be a good fit for your company. [email protected]

How are you able to provide those types of discounts? is there a particular program i need to be in? I have your card and recieve anything close to that.

We have 2 different platforms that we offer: "Over the Road" and "Local." Both types of cards work at truck stops but there are a few differences. The Over the Road cards provide other services like cash advances, plus checks, and permits. The Local program works at truck stops and gas stations, but offers longer billing terms for companys that need that (monthly). The discounts are structured differently depending which platform card you're using. The Local card is what I deal with and the discounts I mentioned are offered to companies that pump over 5,000 gallons a month. We offer a Cost-Plus pricing structure that gives discounts based on what the owner of that location buys his fuel at and the profit margin he places on it. For instance... We would give a Cost-Plus .11 to most of our customers who qualify for this discount which means any time the owner of the station puts a profit margin of greater than 11 cents per gallon, a discount is issued. If they buy fuel for $3.70 per gallon and post the price of $3.96 at their station, our customers would receive 26 cents off per gallon that day at that station. Because the price of fuel and the profit margins are constantly changing, so do the discounts we offer. These discounts are not offered at every single Fleet One location, so knowing where to go has a lot to do with the amount of money your company would save.

I would check to see which card you are using and how many gallons your company does because that has a lot to do with it. Feel free to contact me if I can help answer any other questions for you. [email protected].

Currently, There are a little over 6,000 stations nationwide that offer these discounts. They consist of both gas stations and truck stops. Every Love's Truck Stop is currently helping us offer these discounts as well as some smaller mom and pop truck stops.

We have used FleetOne for over 4 years now, usage runs over 15000 gal monthly, we pay daily over the internet, down load a transaction list daily, but have never seen any discounts that approach what is being talked about here. In the beginning we were issued booklets with all the locations, which were nice for new guys. Now they want you to buy a $15 hardback book, which sort of aggravates me. We use the cash advance feature and the FleetOne Checks which are nice conveniences. All in all I guess I would recommend FleetOne. At times it is time consuming to get through on the phone to them, though.

Multiservice has been in business since 1978 helping small to medium size trucking companies. We have programs that offer zero transaction fees and monthly rebates. Unlike many cost plus programs that depend on high fuel margins to offer substantial rebates ours are consistent and do not depend on fuel margins. In addition we offer some of the highest weekly credit lines available in the industry. How good is a program that offers you discounts but can only support your purchasing needs for only a couple of days?

Does anyone struggle with getting enough credit to meet your fueling needs?

Ted-

You're probably set up on the OTR program with us. Again, we offer two different platforms to meet the needs of many different businesses. If you need the extra things such as Plus Checks, Permits, and Cash Advances, the OTR program is probably the best service for you. The platform I'm offering, for the most part, is strictly fuel only.

To the rep. from Multiservices, if your flat rate of discounts is so good, why don't you share with us what it is. Another one of my customers got 19 cents off at a Love's in Louisiana yesterday. The fuel margins at these stations is usually good enough to offer better savings then our competitors, but I can't speak for every company out there.

As far as the credit line is concerned, Fleet One is one of few companies that purchases credit insurance for companies in need of large credit lines. This gives our company less risk when issuing large credit lines to companies that need it. I have yet to run into a company that was unable to get the credit line they were looking for based on our company's inability to provide enough credit to them. The companies that get declined are usually one's with no credit, bad credit, or coming out of a bankruptcy.
