Professionalism and communication

Shippers, traders, and brokers want loads moved but don't answer phones, emails, or messages on here even. Some want us to install trackers on our trucks, tablets, or phones, but they can't answer simple emails, phone calls, texts, or messages. Especially on weekends, yet they want us running over the weekend. I don't expect it to be immediate every time, but in a timely manner, i.e., within 30 to 45 minutes, it should be possible.

(lol) I always answer my phone or text. I see the other gentleman is having a problem with no one communicating with him and the best thing to do is avoid them, If they cant even answer the phone and show some respect you know they for sure are not going to do there best for you on rates, detention and home time. Alot of them only call if they need help and if they dont need you to bad to sad!! Be safe and God Bless!! Thx, Jeff

Hello Lee, Hope you are well this morning? Seen this post and you know me i had to say something i hope i am still one of the good ones!! (lol) I always answer my phone or text. We have been force fed brokers, plastic boxes telling us we have to driver or that we are tired. I truly long for the days of less government and the days where being a truck driver was a respected profession and not a "damn truck driver"! I started my career learning to drive from my brother, not a driving school. We need to go back to learning from the guys who have experience and not from a trainer who has been on the job for 6 months. If we want to change the industry, we need to start at the bottom and work our way up. Work with who you know and trust! Keep your business close to the vest or you won't have any business. Downshift and go back to basics and drain the cespool!

It is society in general. I have noticed this more so since Covid. I have been ghosted by people I have worked with for 15 years. I know times change and as we get older, we need to learn to adapt, but the total lack of communication and respect for people you work with is something that I can not put up with! I have been in this industry since 1987 in one capacity or another and don't like the direction we are headed. We have been force fed brokers, plastic boxes telling us we have to driver or that we are tired. I truly long for the days of less government and the days where being a truck driver was a respected profession and not a "damn truck driver"! Honestly, it’s been incredibly frustrating—lack of communication, then yelling, followed by a no-show, and now being told to take the load back? It’s been a complete mess from a communication standpoint.

At this point, more calls—even if they lead to frustration or tough conversations—are far better than complete silence, which only adds to the confusion and tension. Lack of response just leads to more frustration and more yelling down the line.

I think it's safe to say, How you do anything, is how you do everything. If i give you a load, and theres an issue. I respond in 20 minutes or less. We don't want you sitting anymore than you want to be sitting.
