Is it worth hauling rock versus the damage it will cause on a hopper?

Hauling rocks DO NOT damage hoppers as lonag as the size of the stone is small. I ship 3/4" stone on hoppers all the time and not once have I had anyone come back to me saying that the stone damaged their trailer, they just want the loads whenever I have them. |

I just hauled a load of Magnesite. It scratched up the slopes pretty bad. Probably won't do that again!

what size was the stone? Also it sounds like you hauled jagged stone, rather than round stone.

A lot of it depends upon the loader operatoras well. If he's careful,it shouldn't be an issue. If he dumps it all at once, different story! I haul up to 2" stone and 1 1/2" limestone, I've never had a problem.
