My truck was dispatched a load that upon arrival to the facility was told they're not unloading trucks today bc they have to get rail cars. Load was taken to another facility to offload. Is there a standard fee in this case? Just curious what y'all do in these situations?

you figure out the rate per mile on the original load and apply that to the diverted miles. if it screws up your reload revenue due to extra miles out of route you charge them a diversion fee based on the loss for the diversion. hope this helps. p.s. dont forget any wait time you incurred while they got their shit together. |

Not sure how others handle this situation but as a rule we will charge the party paying the freight $50-$100 for the stop and each mile from the 1st stop to the 2nd should pay at least as much as the initial amount per mile.
