I see here that a lot of you have no problem scaling 26 or 27 tons on a hopper. I know that you can buy a trailer with a lot of parts changed to aluminum to lighten it up, but I was wondering what trucks, that have sleepers, are the lightest? Petes, KW's, Freightliner or International? Is there a certin year or model that is lighter than others?

Pete's are lighter than comparable kw's. I had an international 9200 small sleeper c12 that weighed 16000 full of fuel.

I have a 2002 Freightliner Classic XL it has an ISX Cummins with an 18-speed 260 inch wheelbase I have an aluminum front bumper on it and aluminum fifth wheel and with my new 102X78X43 Hopper I'm 26,320 lb with me and the driver seat... and the truck has a wet kit on it for my end dump so that's adding about 750 lbs... the hopper is all aluminum Construction with disc brakes and Low Pro 22-5 Tires all the way around the entire truck.

I have an 04 Pete 379 with 63 inch stand up, 265 wheel base I think. Cat, with 13 spd. Had an 87 international 9370 eagle (that I never should have sold) 444 Cummins, 13 spd. 60 inch flat top, 265 wheel base, both weighed just under 28000 hooked to my 46x75x102 tandem spread cornhusker. After I stupidly sold the 87, I borrowed a 03 9900i international. Isx, 10spd. Weighed 29500 hooked to the same trailer with 3/4 tank of fuel, comparable wheel base, all steel wheels though
