If coming to South Carolina I advise you to study rates before getting in debt. One price I was told was about $9.00 per ton cheaper than I use to get and it was a carry through for me not a big money maker. I quit with it all together now not pulling mountains week in week out for $1.50 per mile. Just my .02

If buying a used end Dump you probably don’t want the lightest because the lighter they are the less apt they are to last. And you will be hauling a ton more for only a year or two and need to replace it. I prefer to buy the older square bottom when looking for a used trailer easy to repair and refloor if necessary I have a 97 Travis I will let go for 14000 |

Lower sided trailers are lighter but limit material you can haul. You may want a heavier high sided trailer so you can haul more yardage. Example DDGs & cotton seed you want a 40ft trailer with 72in sides.
Also lighter trailers crack & fall apart.
Spec you trailer so you can haul different materials in case your work changes
