Was wondering how pork meat and bone meal comes out of a hopper? We have never hauled it and we are getting ready to start. How does it come out if you load it one day and deliver it the next especially in this heat. Thanks!

All depends on the type of meal and plant making it, just like ddg. I've had bone meal that flows right out like grain and bone meal that took three hours to unload with a vibrators (Pilgrims Prides old plant in Nashville AR)

I always end up waiting an astronomically long time to load it and unload it. Lot of moisture in the stuff, once you get it to flow, it unloads okay.

I don't eat pork, but the bone meal is a good fertilizer for the plants in my garden. I gave up pork because it's too fat. Instead, I prefer to eat poultry and beef. I love to try different recipes, and lately, I've been cooking beef jerky. I prepared the marinade, bought a dehydrator, and tried this recipe https://www.bigwigjerky.com.au/how-to-make-the-best-homemade-beef-jerky/ In my family, my eldest son and I love to eat this snack. Instead, women don't like it; they say it's too dry or spicy. But that's how we like it!

How much does pork meal weigh per yard of volume? I'm looking at hauling chicken meal but nobody can tell me what it weighs or if I can get 27 tons on a low side hopper?

How long is your trailer? Because I used to pull a 52' spread that was a low side, and I never had any issues with getting 27.5 ton on. If you can get past the stink (Bone meal & Blood meal being the worst) it isn't a bad haul. Loads easy & comes off easy. You might have some stick, but it pushes easily. I always carried a scraper & extended broom with me.

Thanks for the reply. I have a 42' Timpte, so it sounds like I could get close to, if not a full load on. I was worried it was like wheat midds.

It's not the best but it's doable...don't let it freeze and unload it as soon as you can...
