Has everyone blindly signed reliant’s new carrier agreement? It could get you in the pocketbook if anything goes wrong with the load, regardless of who’s fault it is, you the carrier will be responsible for it and disposal and or transporting it. I am disappointed that so many people sign stuff and don’t read it.

Just say no, after all it works so well for everything else, like the war on drugs for example, LOL

They want each driver to climb into their truck and inspect the load! Inspect for what we ask? And if for any reason the load is rejected we the carrier must pay for the load or repositioning the load or whatever reliant and the shipper wants. All on the carrier. We ask about the language and they said that’s not what they intended by the language but refused to change the language to be more carrier friendly. Don’t sign it!! And stop signing stupid agreements for a BS load.

Send it back with your revisions and/or areas you don't agree to crossed out. If they reject it because they're claiming it's non-negotiable then cut ties with them. I've done this with countless brokerages. If they write one sided contracts they do not get my equipment. The rates will fall lower accordlingly because smart carriers will not haul for them anymore either. After enough cheap carriers ruin the brokerage's reputation they'll fix it. Until then, they have to learn the hard way.

We did amend it and they said it’s their way only. We did cut it off. My point are all the owner operators that get bullied this type of behavior by them.

I agree 100 percent! I've only had one brokerage (US Transportation Services MC#355531) ever tell me the BCA was NOT negotiable. I've never seen such a one sided contract in favor of the brokerage. There were blanket stipulations forcing the carrier to forfeit any claim to payment if the load was delivered late and others like stating the broker could seek damages "without showing or proving any actual damage sustained" for essentially anything they wanted. Carriers that agree to such things are absolutley insane! I also have PLS Logistics (MC#598698) on my Do Not Haul List for the worst ever rate con that was 3 pages long full of what was essentially another SECOND contract complete with a staggering amount of back charges, stipulations and ways to shrink the invoice in their favor. Needless to say in both these cases I told them they were nuts and to find another truck! Other than these two morally bankrupt parasites I've had great success with well over 100 brokerages with negotiating favorable terms for both parties. Ironically enough, one of my favorite large brokerages to deal with was TQL. I know that sounds insane considering their reputation but I've never had a single problem with them as far as rates and rate con terms go.

Maybe they should get dedicated trailers to haul their loads . Then they could pay round trip rates we know that will probably never happen why should it change there is always somebody to haul it. When they go broke some one else will come along

Reliant is pretty very well known for their very shady and questionable business practices. My company was hauling frac sand for Reliant and always had the rate con before loading. Seems the rate changed on a rate con early in the haul and someone with Reliant never change it in the computer. To make a long story short they came back on many of us 2 to 3 months later wanting their money back for their mistake . They never got any back from me but I know others that is was withheld from their settlement. Needless to say I won't haul nothing for these snakes !

Always watch your asses in the trucking business because no one else will !

Well there are other options besides Reliant, for instance there are carriers such as us who also have loads to move, and we all have a horse in this race, for us carriers its not about using brokering to necessarily turn a profit its more about servicing our customers.IE:got a bunch of loads out of Kanopolis back to Omaha.
