Bulkloads University: Our Safety rating was poor, we couldn't get loads, but we fixed it and show you how we did it

In 2021, our safety rating on our CAB report was a 98 out of 100. The scoring system works like golf — lower is better.

That score cost us. It limited the loads we could access, drove up our insurance, and made it harder to retain drivers. Something had to change… so we did.

We committed to improving every part of our operation. We implemented structured training, strengthened our safety programs, invested in technology, and upgraded our equipment.

For bulk haulers, rebuilding a safety score isn’t easy. We don’t cross scales as often, which means fewer opportunities to offset violations. But improvement is possible — we’ve proven that.

If you’re currently struggling with your safety rating, hopefully this helps. And if you’re not, take this as a reminder of how quickly things can change — and why staying proactive matters.
