So I saw an article about how drivers are now cooking in their truck. As far as i know this isn't something new for drivers. I don't for say" cook" in my truck. I boil water for all my meals. I use Mountain House foods. I get it thru Amazon. All i need to do is have hot water for them. I have a wide variety of choices.... beef stroganoff, breakfast skillet, and yes they taste very good...... add your own pepper 😁. No weight and tons of choices. I have a giant tote where my passenger seat should be, it's completely full. I even have ice cream.

Keep an eye on the sodium in those meals. Most of the labels I've seen of those meals are over 800mg per serving. I think it's important to watch the sugar and sodium and most food accessible to truckers needs an oversized load permit for the sodium level. I only bring it up because my dad had heart attack this year I want all my fellow truckers healthy. My wife and I make all my meals for the week before I leave. I make my own Home made breakfast burritos, and my personal trainer wife makes the rest of my meals which are pheasant pasta bowls and venison and veggie burritos for this week. I can fit 5 days of meals in the sleeper fridge, and my wife's keeping me healthy and the fact that she's using wild game gives me an excuse to go hunting. Win win for me!

Back in the 90's and 2000's I had one of the lunch box cookers that plugged into the cigarette lighter. I would take a small amount of water and put in the bottom and then take a small loaf pan that would fit inside and place meat and vegetables in there with seasoning and make my dinner. The meat did not get browned but it was cooked as well as the veggies. Made a great meal and was very inexpensive. I think the cooker cost me $15 at the Bar B in Black River Falls. I enjoyed cooking in the truck with that little oven!

Had heartattack 1.5 yrs ago. Haven't recovered well. We figure i was eating 15000mg of sodium someday. Now I try hard to stay around 2000 except in heat of summer. My wife makes me enough stuff to eat out of truck for up to 10 days. Saves a bunch of money. Besides you never know where you can get food now. I miss sodium. Art Pfluger

I flush out quite well, if you know what i mean. I goi thru about 2 to 2.5 cases of water every 7 days. No coffee, no soda, maybe an iced tea. I keep up with water intake.
