It's pretty simple, they act like a personal dispatcher for you. You pay them weekly either a flat fee or a % of your gross. You tell them what area you like to run or what areas to avoid and it's their job to sit on the different load boards and book freight for you. Some companies will also invoice the broker on your behalf.
