Factoring is just the express lane to bankruptcy. Say on the low side you do 200K per truck and pay 3% to the factoring company, thats $6000 a year. My LOC rate is 5.5% and paid @ 2200 in interest last year. Why work hard at negotiating rates and then give your money to a factoring company.

Talk to your local banker about a line of credit if you deal with good brokers/ customers. Factoring is just the express lane to bankruptcy. Say on the low side you do 200K per truck and pay 3% to the factoring company, thats $6000 a year. My LOC rate is 5.5% and paid @ 2200 in interest last year. Why work hard at negotiating rates and then give your money to a factoring company.

Maybe it is because you are in Texas and banks are probably more tuned into what this type of trucking is all about. Some of don't have banks that will work with you on these things making factoring more interesting. Also some of the factoring companies are offering fuel cards that help offset the burn of the factoring fees. Glad you are more fortunate than some of us with bankers.
