Problem is the word BACKHAUL! This is a forum to make money hauling bulk loads, not just to reposition a truck.

Refer to forum "Challenge To Brokers". This is some of that "back haul" talk again. How about just saying " I need some hoppers to haul from Iowa to Georgia" ? Back haul means I'm looking for cheap trucks!!!!!!!

It is because he is looking for cheap trucks. Current bid for corn in Camilla today is $4.58bu. While the price of corn around central Iowa is probably in the $3.40 a bushel. So probably looking for someone to haul it for the difference in price so maybe $1.00 a mile or less.

Let them have at it. It is getting easier to tell who is hauling cheap when you are driving down the highway. Biggest giveaway is when you see mix matched tires on every axle with barely any tread on them. Saw one the other day with wore down drive tires on one side of one axle on their trailer. Rear panels and side panels dented from tires blowing out. Saw a headlight duck taped in one day last week. Rubber straps holding stuff on the truck. It is starting to show so just a matter of time before they get bad enough to get put out of service.

It's hard to aim headlights but that Gorilla Grip duct tape does good for holding them in.

Mason City IA to Camilla GA is, as per google 1179 miles.
950 bu of corn is 53,200 1.00 per mile is ~.80 per mile. What is that number again? |

I was thinking about this. 8-10 loads.
Lets play the odds here. Your looking for 8-10 trucks that are in north central IA and hoping that all want to go to GA. |

Georgia with a hopper, ummm, seriously. Sign me up. That rate should only reflect a round trip rate, since it is going from one shit hole to another

Soon the back haul will be the main haul.. Then we can have the back haul for the back haul.. A haul is a haul no matter which way you go.. Funny thing.. That finance company doesnt give you a discount on your paymebt because you hauled a back haul.. That diesel wasnt discounted.. Or insurance, maintenance, tires, or anything because you hauled a back haul.. Then there is the guy who hauls that back haul that used to be my main haul.. You want to sell back haul freight.. How about we save time and money.. And go to brokers who sell haul freight..

Jerry- you use your wad of beechnut or redman and pack it in to git just the right angle then tape the shit out of it. Then BAM! damn near factory settings again.
