Looking for Flat Floor grain trailers

Aug 26, 2016 at 03:27 PM CST
We are looking to buy some flat floor/rear door grain trailers. Convertibles also welcome. Don't really need the bottom dump but can deal with it if the price is right.

The only flat floor grain trailer I have seen for sale lately was an older triaxle I thought it was from Stagecoach in Hastings MN, they wanted 20,000.00.

You may look at flatbed trailer with a side kit for grain.

Sir I have built , owned and operated flatbed trailers with various side kits since the 70's some in excess of 6' tall. They were all very successful. It is all a matter of expectation vs your wallet.

Kind of a p.s. here. In the 70's we even hauled cattle on truck and trailer combos from az to la. 2 trips a week. Tore them sides down and hauled palletized cardboard boxes back.

Just a little FYI. I dont expect anything to be handed to me. I work a full time 144 hour Firefighter job on a 48/72 schedule.

I own, dispatch, repair, search for new business, take care of accounts receivable, payable, and payroll. I am a one man show and we run 48 states. Oh wait, On the days I am off from the Fire Dept, I slip into the trucks to give my drivers time off.

Sir, please dont ever come at me with that something for nothing mentality. I understand what he was talking about, however I was unable to reply due to being busy on the road delivering loads instead of sitting at the Petro telling stories and giving bad advice.

For those of you that replied, thank you. I have talked with several of you and will be getting back with you.

Rant Over

Cool down big boy. No one ever said a thing about you wanting something for nothing. Nor did any one disparage your work ethic. It was a simple comment about days gone by.

Yes, what is the reason for your rant. I think you ought to reread things. As I said no one said anything negative about or to you.

Mr.Mcgill, I never disparaged you or anyone. I simply tried to communicate that there are many ways to solve problems. If my thoughts bothered you , my apologies, but if you think you are the only person struggling your wrong. However your response, well I'll be nice and just tell you that I won't bother you with my silly solutions again. Good luck. I hope you never need ideas again.

I didnt say anything about your idea or solution. The thing that set me off was the "something for nothing" mentality. I probably went a little far with my rant and for that I will apologize.

While I appreciate and understand your solution, I dont believe it would be the best option for me at this time. As you and everyone else knows, the DOT are hell on wheels when they pick up a harvest route. "Back in the day" you could easily operate with homegrown solutions, Its just a little different now. This is just my opinion mind you. but i had something specific in mind when I posted this.

Thanks for the input and ideas.
