John,

Since you said questions are welcomed I have a few. Do you have experience in this industry? Have you owned trucks? Driven Trucks? Worked on trucks? What made you wake up and say 'I want to be a freight broker'?

Why in your bulkloads information it is listed as Kansas but you state your based out of Memphis, TN?

Why doesn't your info show up in the government safer system? Are you not licensed and bonded?

Let's be clear on something I didn't wake up one day and say I've decided to be a freight Broker. This is something I have been working on for some time now and everything is coming together. To answer your questions I have over 7 yrs experience in the shipping and receiving business. My grandfather and my father as well owned their own logging company and trucks as well. My company is new and just starting out and I'm looking to make my own connections in the business. Yes, I am licensed and I am bonded thru PFA as well. No I haven't driven trucks bc I don't want to drive trucks, yes I have worked on trucks but I don't want to be a mechanic. Lastly as far as the info saying Kansas I'm not seeing it but I will look and correct it for "you" because as I stated I am based out of Memphis, TN.

John, a carrier's credentials are checked multiple times per day. Id be surprised if the dot number isn't ran on every truck that rolls through a scale, every time. We don't get bent out of shape about it. Id get used to having people ask for those credentials. Id bet that the dot would shut wes down instantly if safer showed his interstate authority as inactive. Just the truckers perspective. Good luck with your new business.

Hello again John

I am Wes Walton, exactly as it says I am on Bulk Loads. I am a carrier that began in 2008 as an owner operator, just last month we put on our 6th truck. You can check out my info on the safer website...here is the link https://safer.fmcsa.dot.gov/query.asp as I said we just added a 6th truck and that hasn't been updated on safer yet, still shows 5.

I have no idea who or what PFA is, I googled that and nothing came up. The only place I go to look for correct licensing and bonding is the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, and when I put your name in you don't exist. That is a problem, because you don't know me and I don't know you from Adam. Your license and bond protects me or anyone else that works for you. There is countless people posting loads, claiming to be brokers that simply aren't, and from my observations too many truck drivers that can't spend 30 seconds checking out who they are working for.

I don't like brokers so we may not get along, thats ok though, I'm here to make a living for me and my guys, not to make friends with brokers, just the way I see it. Yes I use some brokers, but I could count them on one hand, and it wouldn't take all the fingers. 90% of our customers are direct customers, that I have built relationships with over the years. In my experience the customer, or at least my customers want to pickup the phone and talk to the guy that actually has the trucks, and they pay well for the excellent service we provide.

Good luck John, I really hope you do well, and I mean that. But I will continue making the calls, emails, and face to face visits with the same type of customers that your after as well, why - becasue I'd rather have that 10%+ in my pocket - becasue after all I'm the one buying the fuel, paying the insurance, paying the repairs bills, paying the taxes, making payroll, and on and on - guess I feel like I deserve it more than the guys with a cell phone and a computer.

What is your MC#?

Just my two cents for whatever it's worth; In California (other states as well), the Contractor's State Licensing Board (construction, handymen, etc.) requires by law that ANYWHERE your business is posted, advertised, promoted, etc. that you MUST include your CA State Contractor's License #, and if you are not licensed, you must post that you are not. Non- licensed operations can only charge a limited amount for services- Last I knew it was a cap of $500 but I've not been in that industry for many years now so it may have changed.

When I got my authority, I decided that whenever I post anything about my business I will always include my MC and DOT #'s; This way others will know up front that I am a legal, licensed and bonded freight broker and not a dispatcher illegally posing as a broker (like so many in the FB groups do).

I think that the FMCSA should make this mandatory so others will know that they are dealing with a legal licensed/bonded broker and not just someone who woke up one morning, puchased an (unnecessary) online quick-course in dispatching and will become rich overnight while doing it as a "side hustle" along with their vitamins and wellness products MLM.

Thanks Barry! Whenever I have said this in many FB groups, some call me and others with this same viewpoint "Haters" and it gets me kicked out and banned, but so be it!

Did anybody figure out what the PFA is? It's probably the certification the training provider invented and gives you when you complete their online class...😂
