This is why we are losing drivers they are tired of being regulated to death, I dont care if it is hour or 12 hours... Need more on the Job training not Government Intervention.. The carrier should be responsible for training these guys.. Ridiculous..

As to the driver shortage the other poster mentioned, I respectfully couldn't disagree more. If there was a shortage, in my opinion a few things should be happening. Number 1, pay. If there's such a desperate shortage the pay should reflect it. Number 2, if there's a shortage there should be incentives to stay or get in the industry and there aren't any. Our infrastructure can't handle 1 more truck on the road and that's not an exaggeration. There is no room to park . There is zero flexibility with loading and unloading schedules. There's a million other reasons. I think a debate on this topic would be a great podcast.

I though this was a great podcast. I wish She was in charge of FMCSA. As to the driver shortage the other poster mentioned, I respectfully couldn't disagree more. If there was a shortage, in my opinion a few things should be happening. Number 1, pay. If there's such a desperate shortage the pay should reflect it. Everyone will view it differently, if your a broker and you find 80 loads of freight today, but can only find 60 trucks you will say there is a shortage, but if that’s the way you conclude there is a shortage then there will always be a shortage, since there is no one broker that is capable of moving all the freight in the market.

Everyone will view it differently, if your a broker and you find 80 loads of freight today, but can only find 60 trucks you will say there is a shortage, but if that’s the way you conclude there is a shortage then there will always be a shortage, since there is no one broker that is capable of moving all the freight in the market.
