I am wondering what drivers are receiving and owners are paying as a % of gross revenue for W2 employees? What is a fair rate in today's market? What other benefits are are being offered?

Thank you in advance,

Ryan

If the driver is OTR and not able to get home at night and the truck gross is $5000 a week or better, a fair % should be at least 28%. if the driver is out all week and the truck makes less the % should be higher. it cost a fortune to live on the road these days alone for the drivers and there is no reason that a driver needs to live like a dog when they give that much time into a job.

I pay off of 100% of the linehaul, not including FSC, because the driver isnt putting the fuel in the tanks. 26% for the first 2.5 years of employment, 27% for 2.5 to 5 years, 28% for over 5 years. Each % of increase of the the truck pay, is a 4% increase in pay to the driver. (if the load pays 1000 + FSC, driver gets 260, 270, or 280 depending on his tenure. 4% difference in each one to the next one) Driver gets half the accesorials(stop-off, TONU, 2 door pickup, detention) I guarantee a minumim of 1000 for 5 days of work. My guys are averaging 1300-1400 per week. If he makes over 1500 per week, I give him an exta 100. If he makes over 2000 per week, I give him another 200. Been paying those bonuses out pretty regularily lately, and that is quite fine by me.
