I don't know but it's really annoying, most dont post what product it is either. The "lane rate" thing is pointless as well.

These load boards should require listing the product, rate, equipment needed and/or any special requirements.

I think the reason they dont post rates is because if they can get it cheap, they put more cash in their pockets. It seems everytime you tell them its to cheap and you wont do it, they come back with "What do you think you can do it for". This to me is a bidding process. Dont take the cheap rates, let them get in a bind when their loads dont get delivered....

Just my thoughts.

While some can’t get passed their new issue of Lage car, others are paying attention to the stories being blacked out or white washed by the mainstream media, Credit Suisse, Deutsche bank, Bank of England, Inverted yield curve, Crypto, FTX, BRICS, Red Friday, and Blank Sailings being up over 40%, just to name a few.

They dont have the business yet they are either trying to get the lane. or sourcing the bids for the customer.

First thing they ask when I call is where I’m trying to bounce to, I don’t do backhauls. The second thing is no shortage of trucks. Last year most of the ship dates on the load board were a month or more behind, now they’re a or more week ahead. When they could book loads two weeks in advance or more, that’s a massive profit loss for carriers. Business can be tough, but we ARE direct competition at the moment and they use that. Everyone on the spot market is moving cheap freight because that’s the price range until capacity corrects itself.

For the past couple of years a lot of guys were living a fools paradise spending retarded amounts of money on equipment they could never afford without Covid money ( Like 300k on a glider), just because they wanted to be that guy on the cover of large car, while all the time the rest of the world kept pointing out the financial problems that were building, well here we are now the Covid money is gone, rates are dropping and now everyone is freaking out, wondering what type of trailer they should be pulling? Maybe they should have spent more time reading the Wall Street journal, less time looking at Large Car.

Yes sir it's not going to be beneficial for them to list the rate. If they do, the phone won't ring & that'll make a day even longer. As for the post further down. I was 1 of them who traded off a reliable, title in hand truck. Any y'all old enough to remember Passmore trking from Oklahoma. After they ceased operations. I purchased a W900 in Kearney, Ne. $1700+ monthly. That was a cheap payment compared to these days $2800-3500+ monthly.

It's interesting to see who the commenters are here. Only two or three have been members for more than two years. I kinda understand wanting more information posted about the load. I'd rather have the phone conversation. I can probably get more information in general. My thumbs don't work as fast as the younger generation. Besides, I should be driving.

Cheap freight? Maybe. Maybe it's back to normal, whatever that is. Watch the ignorant and the desperate duke it out. Crying all the way.

To the Large Car thing. I encountered a hopper driver for a well run fleet from Wisconsin this week. He's driving a late model aero truck and a new commodity hopper. He weighs 26,500 lbs empty full of fuel. And gets 8+ mpg. Compare that to pushing 30,000 lbs empty and getting 5 mpg. I mean it. Do the math.

When I get asked, "what's your best rate"? I reply, no, what's YOUR best rate to get me interested enough to take it? I mean, if you already have the work, you surely know what you have in it. If you're asking me to see how much I'm willing to leave on the table, the answer is NONE, and I'll take your cut too!

Precsiely! The loads often are not real. They get a bid for us and then shop it. If I don't get a Rate Con within ten minutes of a call, I just keep looking for a new load. Some brokers actually have real loads and will send the Rate Confirmation quickly, most do not.
