Timpte or Wilson is the way to go. Dont have any experience with Wilson but I hear they are more robust version of timpte. We run 42×96×78 hoppers with commodity tubs. Also make sure you get vibrators for the trailer (MT Fast)

Your profile says you are from Florida, why not buy a walking floor? Hopper work is plentiful in the Midwest because of the vast amount of grain produced there. The south has cottonseed, mulch, rice hulls, green beans, and storm cleanup work that can't or shouldn't go in hoppers. Walking floor loads are less abundant, but when a customer needs a floor they usually pay up for it.

I have a Wilson 45' x 102"w x 72"h and love it. I honestly wouldn't go any smaller and don't see how the guys with smaller ones can make any money on the paid by the ton stuff. But if you run a truck with a sleeper (I don't) then a bigger trailer wouldn't matter too much unless you haul the really light stuff. I appreciate the stiffness a little bit of steel framing front and back makes, especially in tire wear. These trailers are considered "frameless" and tend to be hard on tires because of that. I also run used semi drive tires on my trailer to help with that.

I've got a 2007 Timpte 42'x96"x78" with commodity tubs I'm thinking about selling, good trailer just don't pull it enough anymore with the cattle deal I got keeping me busy enough. Located in SW Missouri

I do appreciate all the comments and suggestions in your replies. After reading as much as I can on line I see that some drivers prefer a STANDARD hopper abs some an AG hopper. I've come across an opportunity unity to haul peanuts locally during season so I'd like to hear back which one suits my needs better. I was told to try to get a 43/ 102 .. would a 96 be much less capacity, and also preferred sidewall height.. TIA, enjoy your weekend and stay safe

If your going to haul peanuts you are going to need a 43X102X102. That's usually the size they use.

$18k obo, it's got a new tarp, all new brakes, drums S cams and bushings, several new air lines, it's got air lines and mounts for vibrators. Stainless front and rear. Hopper doors open hard, was thinking of rebuilding them but I rarely pull it so it's not a big deal to me.

The difference between my 96 and my 102 trailers is 6 tons when hauling midds... go 102 if you can!
