What stood out to me when I read through it was the automatic breaking systems that will be required in all new trucks after a certain year. Does that mean I will need to spend the money on putting an automatic breaking systems in my 2016 pete that does not have it?...

Over a period of time since then the interest young people have in this industry has dropped with every new regulation that has been introduced by the regulatory industrial complex, and now in a era where marijuana is being legalized all over the country these folks think they are going to recruit 18 year olds into a industry with zero tolerance? But let’s forget all that for a moment, how many of you would have chose to enter this industry way back when, if all these rules and regulations would have existed at that time?

The few things that stood out to me, first the numbers add up to a lot more than they are telling us, second the pilot program for 18-21 year olds, the automatic breaking system, how would like to have that kick in on a steep down grade, but more importantly all the new studies over the next five years will definitely just be a road to more rules and regulations if i added this mess up correctly it seems to be way over 1.2 trillion dollars each year for 5 years maybe I'm not fully understanding what I read but thats what looks like to me

I may be wrong but I doubt the brake system will be a mandatory retro fit. Would be very complicated. No I would not get in this industry now. But ATA is the driving force behind these things as they know they can price small carriers out of existence.
