Trucking is Hard
Members,
This isn’t some big epiphany, but over the last two or three weeks traveling and talking with people across the industry, I’ll be honest... I’ve almost felt depressed hearing just how hard things are right now.
It’s not just rising fuel costs.
It’s the competitiveness, the cost of equipment, finding good drivers, legal issues, regulations, insurance, and all the overburdensome pressure that comes with trying to survive in trucking and farming today. Sometimes I honestly think, why would somebody even want to get into trucking or agriculture?
There’s a lot of weight to carry. A lot of capital. A lot of risk. And many times, very little margin left over at the end. I’m not saying all this to complain. I’m saying it because I feel it too. But I’m also making it my mission to keep figuring out how we make this better together. We can either give up or keep pushing forward. I truly believe God has put me here, and put us here together, for a reason. I don’t want to be somebody who just bad-mouths the industry or blames everyone else.
I want to help find solutions. I believe we can fix a lot of this over time. Please know I’m here with you all. I don’t take this industry, these relationships, or this platform for granted. Sometimes you may not see all the work happening behind the scenes, but trust me, we are continuing to work hard building better tools, better systems, and better solutions, not just for BulkLoads, but for the industry as a whole. I honestly feel like God has given me a voice now for people like you all... truckers, carriers, farmers, and small businesses that often feel overlooked. That’s something I prayed about years ago, and I continue to see doors opening.
Please keep giving me feedback. Let me know how we can continue to help and serve you better. I know this is a brutal market right now, but I still believe there is prosperity ahead. People still need trucks. Freight still has to move. Animals still have to be fed. Food still has to get to the table. That’s never going away. As always, I’m here if you need anything. You can always email me personally at [email protected]. We’ll keep pushing forward together.
God Bless,
Jared
