Help and Support needed!!! WIll you join TEAM ASHLEY?

First of all this was not an easy decision for me to mix personal with business, however after much consideration I feel it is necessary to raise support for my daughter Ashley Mitchell. By no means do I intend to offend anyone and this message is personally from Nicole Mitchell and not on behalf of M7 Logistics. I have worked with many of you directly and indirectly over the last 23 years in the transportation industry, I know there have been many life events for all of us that we have experienced together ones that make us laugh some that make us celebrate and some that have made us cry, all of which has bound us together in our hearts.

As a lot of you know I have not been around on a daily basis. Over the last year I have been attending to my daughter’s medical needs. Last March Ashley was diagnosed with brain lesion in the front left lobe of her brain cause is unknown accompanied with other diagnoses epilepsy unexplained fluid and inflammation in her brain. At this time the doctor thought we would do a “wait and see” approach. Last June my 8 year old daughter tried to take her life. This was not by choice of Ashley but purely a behavior and reaction to the uncontrolled emotion and thoughts. The effected part of her brain controls her short term memory, emotions, and psychiatric. Ashley started having seizures requiring medication to help control, by October these medication became toxic to Ashley and was borderline liver failure. Ashley’s conditions are literally deteriorating her academically (she is in 3rd grade and testing below kindergarten levels, in the first grade she was testing average of middle of 4th grade levels), physically, socially and emotionally. Daily Ashley is so full of anxiety not being able to process what is happening, and why she is so different, she is insecure, and scared. After much research and advocating for my daughter we found a doctor who agreed to look at Ashley’s medical file.

On January 7th the specialist from the Barrow Neurological Institute called and advised they believe it is critical for Ashley to be cared for from their team and they believe they can help her. On March 21st Ashley will be admitted to Phoenix Children’s Hospital in Arizona. They have her scheduled to be released on her birthday April 11th, assuming they are able to gather enough information for a plan of care. I already have mounting medical bills and expecting many more along with travel expenses, and care for my other 4 children who will remain in Omaha while I am away. I am reaching out asking you for your help and support in helping my daughter Ashley. I started campaigning for Ashley and have set up a Facebook page to follow, like and share…ashleymitchelljourney2acure. I am in the process of building her website www.ashleymitchelljourney2acure.com online you can donate directly all credit card and pay pal types are accepted you can also purchase “Team Ashley” shirts $20.00 all proceeds go to Ashley’s care. There is a go fund me however it is very expensive to receive money. Ashley’s bank account is set up at Wells Fargo, they will receive donations directly “Ashley Mitchell Journey to a cure. Donations and cards can also be sent to Ashley Mitchell PO BOX 391102 Omaha, Nebraska 68139. I encourage everyone to share, follow and like, and rally for my daughter. Ashley’s Wings is formed and we are in the background building the platform, nonprofits cannot support personal interest therefore I cannot campaign for my daughter through the non-profit. Big things to come.

I refuse to let the stress, fears and the unknown to tear me or my family apart or down. Each day it takes all the strength the Lord gives us to just stand up. Hope all goes well for you and Ashley in Az. I understand what you are going through, I lost my son a few years ago when he had a heart attack. He was born with a heart condition and had a transplant that gave us 7 more years with him until the Big guy upstairs needed him more than I. There were many people that helped us down through the years with there generosity and time. Make sure to get into the Ronald McDonald house over there, these people are the best in the world. Most are parents that have been where you are right now. I have no problem donating to Ashley's cause and you as well Nicole, you have been in our prayers since Kevin first made me aware of your situation. You need to concentrate on your daughter and allow the rest of us to help out as the Lord allows us to.

I appreciate your support!! Thanks for sharing about your son and I am sorry for your loss! With the testing Ashley is having I am required to be in her room with her. She will be on so many monitors, and equipment she will be confined to her room the whole time we are down there.. MAYBE I will master " Go Fish" LOL. The Ronald Mcdonald house did reach out to us, but I am not able to use their resources as i have to be with her the duration. I have been contacted by many families that have children suffering disorders and such and it is a blessing to hear the stories and share-- inspriing for SURE!!!

Check and see if they have a Ronald McDonald room at the hospital like they do here in KC. Families bring in meals for the parents, we have donated our time in the past here locally because so many gave to us in the past. My son was with me right before he passed away and we ran 27 states. It was one of the best times that I ever had on the truck, this is why my heart goes out to the trucker. The truckers that everybody else seems to despise were some of the only ones that treated my son with dignity and respect. They took the time to listen to his quirky jokes, listen to his quirky songs, enjoy his wonderful smile. Nicole you will now understand why my passion is always for the trucker, I owe them for showing me compassion as well as being a bad ass. My son asked me out of all the individuals in the world who did I consider to be the most bad ass? I replied to him that it was him and Jesus, that both of them had been through more pain than anybody I had ever seen. That would include those that I had served with in Special Ops. He was taken aback by that, you tell your daughter that she is tough and that through all of this she only helps you to grow stronger. The Lord will never ever give us more than we can handle.
